Acceptance

By using Gearbox Relay, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

Description of Service

Gearbox Relay is a personal knowledge management application. It captures text from your device, processes it locally using on-device AI, and optionally syncs encrypted data across your devices via a relay server. The software is provided "as is."

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Ensuring your password is secure

Acceptable Use

You may not use Gearbox Relay to:

• Violate any law or regulation
• Infringe on the rights of others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system
• Distribute malware or harmful code

Intellectual Property

Gearbox Relay is open source software released under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, modify, and distribute the software per the terms of that license.

The Gearbox Relay name, logo, and branding are property of the Gearbox Relay authors. You may not use them without permission.

Third-Party Services

Gearbox Relay may integrate with third-party services for payment processing (Stripe) and optional telemetry (Sentry). These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Sync Service

The optional sync service transmits encrypted copies of your data between your devices. You retain all rights to your data. We do not access, read, or use your data in any way beyond facilitating sync.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to any sync service at any time for any reason without notice. You may stop using the software at any time.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES ABOUT THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF THE SOFTWARE.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
